About the Council

Canewdon Parish Council consists of 9 councillors and 2 members of staff. The Council strives to improve the quality of life for the residents of the village. The Council is responsible for the following services:

Allotments
Benches
Street lighting
Play equipment
Providing grants to local community groups
General village maintenance
Village planting
Local events

Council Performance

The Local Council Awards Scheme has been created by the National Association of Local Councils to celebrate the success of local councils and to provide a framework for all councils to work towards. The scheme consists of three levels with associated criteria that must be met.

Canewdon Parish Council were accredited with the Foundation Award in October 2020 and are striving towards the next level of the awards.
