Lock up and stocks
The village lock up is a Grade II listed building is said to have been erected in 1775, within the lock up are a set of stocks also thought to be from 1775. The lock up is located adjacent to the churchyard of St Nicholas’ Church in the High Street.
The Parish Council arranged for the refurbishment of the lock up in March 2021.
Canewdon Recreation Ground
Rochford District Council are responsible for the play area and open space at the recreation ground.
The Parish Council are responsible for the teen shelter and skate park. The skate park is open to all, please follow the safety rules if using the facility.

There are many public rights of way within the village, most of which run through stunning countryside. Footpath maps are available from the Clerk.
